Project Aims

• To develop the critical, visual and media literacy skills required to combine appropriate multi-modal elements to create a travel blog.

Expected Outcomes

• Demonstrated ability to use critical literacy skills to choose appropriate websites for research purposes.
• Demonstrated ability to apply the specific metalanguage of electronic texts
• Demonstrated ability to apply the skills required to confidently navigate, interpret and decode electronic, multi-modal texts
• Demonstrated ability to reflect on and explain the codes and conventions of multi modal, electronic texts
• Discuss and explain, in both the written form and orally, some of the differences between print based and electronic based text
• Plan, design and create a multi-modal travel blog which includes at least five postings
